    Shenzhen Economic Daily: The ISO Headquarter of Water Re-use Settles in Shenzhen

    Shenzhen Economic Daily(journalist: Huang Qingshan): The journalist has got the news yesterday that the secretariat of ISO/TC282 water re-use of which SAC(China) and JISC(Japan) jiontingly take reponsibility has got the approval of ISO/TMB(Technical Mangement Board of International Organization for Standardization). And Naty Barak, who is from Israel, was appointed as the chairman of this TC. The undertaking enterprise of the secretariat is Shenzhen 乐虎国际娱乐app下载-乐虎国际官网-乐虎国际唯一网站 Corporation which means the ISO headquarter of water re-use have settled in Shenzhen. This settlement of ISO/TC is the second headquarter of international standards after the Research Center for European standards was established in Shenzhen in the beginning of this year.

      The main task of ISO/TC 282 is to make standardisation of water re-use of any kind and for any purpose. It covers both centralised and decentralised or on-site water re-uses, direct and indirect ones as well as intentional and unintentional ones. It includes technical, economic, environmental and societal aspects of water re-use. Water re-use comprises a sequence of the stages and operations involved in uptaking, conveyance, processing, storage, distribution, consumption, drainage and other handling of wastewater, including the water re-use in repeated, cascaded and recycled ways. Congratulations were sent by Guangdong insitute of Standardization and Shenzhen insitute of Standardization to Shenzhen 乐虎国际娱乐app下载-乐虎国际官网-乐虎国际唯一网站 Corporation which is the undertaking enterprise of the secretariat of ISO/TC 282 water re-use. ISO/TC 282 water re-use secretariat is the first secretariat whose undertaking enterprise is a corporation, and it is the zero-breakthrough of ISO/TC in Guangdong province which illusrates the presence of the leading position of water reuse technologies of Shenzhen. Moreover, it is also the breakthrough that our province have joined the work on the development of international standards.

    In order to response the global water shortage, at the ISO Council meeting which was held in March 2011, the ISO Council (Resolution 4/2011) underlined the importance of challenges related to water and established Implementation Task Force on Water (ITFWA). Shenzhen 乐虎国际娱乐app下载-乐虎国际官网-乐虎国际唯一网站 Corporation on behalf of China took part in all the activities of ITFWA. On May 20, 2013, Mr Huang Yongheng participated in the 36th Hawaii Pacific Area Standards Congress PASC. He made a special report about "World water crisis and the new trends of water ISO standard", the major point was to introduce the proposal that Japan, China and Israel proposed to set a new technical committee "water re-use" (ISO/TS/P 236), and encouraged the PASC member to support and participate positively in the work of the new technical committee. And the proposal that ISO/TC282 water re-use which is co-managed by China whose represenative is Shenzhen 乐虎国际娱乐app下载-乐虎国际官网-乐虎国际唯一网站 Corporation and Japan was approved. Moreover, more than 100 countries took this ballot held by ISO in Geneva in July.

The settlement of ISO/TC 282 water re-use can also improve the international awareness of producers, operators, regulators and consumers and build a better environment for understanding, participating and supporting international standards activities.
